Summary
More than one hundred years have passed since Tischendorf published his edition of Codex C. This writer has not been able to note a single instance of a critic finding any errors in his standard edition. With the availability of new photographic techniques and the possibility that another century might have favorably affected the New Testament text, the time seemed right for a new and thorough examination of this very valuable and significant witness to the ancient text of the New Testament.

Comments
xxviii, 366 leaves ; 36 cm. This computer produced edition (1994) does not differ in any way from the original form of the dissertation which was signed by Principal Matthew Black as concerns the 289 pages of the text of Codex C or the judgment calls made in the Appendices. The only changes are as follows: (a) I have added Appendix E, "The Original Composition of the Manuscript;" (b) have corrected all the Typographical errors as I have found them; and (c) improved some sentences that were not clear; and (d) minor matters of format made possible by the computer. Other than these, this edition is as it was submitted for the degree. Old URL: http://ecommons.asburyseminary.edu/xmlui/handle/10910/12819
