Summary

This book (Vol. 1) contains transcripts of interviews with 75 representatives of evangelical churches and organizations in Eurasia (in the former Soviet Union countries). Interviews were conducted as part of an international research project on the phenomenon of leadership among evangelical Christians. These transcripts serve as both vivid illustrations of how contemporary believers understand leadership and helpful examples of effective and ineffective leadership models. This volume is intended for everyone interested in issues of leadership, especially in the religious and cultural contexts of Eurasia.

In 2015-2017, Hodos Institute conducted a study of leadership among Evangelical Christians in Eurasia. The aim was to find out how believers in the European region and in the countries of Central Asia understand leadership and its formation. Using a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, focus groups, questionnaires, and analysis) we found certain key factors to be lacking, which we propose should be emphasized in effective leadership formation programs in Eurasia.
