Summary

The rule of this collection is to print unannotated editions of complete sermons that would permit authors to speak fully for themselves. The genre is the political sermon permit which allows the religious perspective concerning the rise of American nationhood. This type of representative expression is important because a steady attention to the pulpit from 1730 to 1805 unveils a distinctive rhetoric of political discourse
